The Nigeria Army chief of staff, Tukur Buratai has urged spiritual clergymen to pray for Nigeria Army troops battling with Book Haram terrorist in the north east region mostly Borno state.

However, Tukur Buratai has alongside urged spiritual leaders to encourage family members left behind by the military personnel's fighting terrorism.
According to a press release, he gave the charge in his keynote address to declare open the army directorate of chaplains services (Roman Catholic) training week/conference and retreat 2017 at Maimalari Cantonment Officers Mess, Maiduguri, Borno state
The Director of chaplain services, Rev Charles Iroegbu during his welcome address speech, has noted that the Military should rather use soft power and tactic than using hard power in winning the heart of people.
According to Charles, he said the hosting of the conference and retreat is to bring the presence of God by prayer intercession and to also add spiritual impetus to the fight against the terrorists by way of encouraging the troops.
